New Jersey Community Development Corporation brings in Music Choice to Elysian Fields Community Garden! The hard work of the employees, community members and parents helped rebuild the community garden. They also assisted with a great deal of additions the field. One of them being an outdoor classroom. Mr. Patrick Cecala and Mr. Christopher Fabor Muhammad did an outstanding job in building and planning for the garden! The staff of Full Service Community School #5 for supported this build!


Hani Khuri, ESQ was the presenter at School #9. They hosted a workshop on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. He spoke about immigration. Gave details about the laws of immigration and what people needed to do to get their citizenship. Parents were really interested and they had the opportunity to have a lot of their questions answered.


School #9 PTO parents and principal honor 2nd graders !


School #9 honored second graders who made the honor roll all four marking periods. The PTO and school hosted a luncheon with the principal and their parents on Friday, June 3, 2016. Students received gifts and awards. 


Community Partners Corner


The Department of Family & Community Engagement honored a parent from every school at their Parent of the Year Breakfast Conference. The parents are chosen by the principal and parent coordinator. These parents have shown exemplary parenting skills throughout the school year as well as service to the school community. The Department also honors a parent coordiantor or liaison with the Patricia Harris Spirit of Excellence Award for their hard work and dedication to the school and community. This year it was awarded to Ms. Yolanda Simmons, Parent Coordinator at School # 13. We know it takes a team and here at PPS FCE we want to say thank you to all of you for doing a great job! 


Department of FCE host Annual Parent Breakfast Conference


On May 12th, School 13 administration, teachers and staff recognized 19 parents for parent involvement at the school and beyond. Parents were awarded certificates for their efforts. The guest speaker was newly elected Councilman Luis Velez. The Voices of School 13 sang the song Mama as their tribute to all parents in attendance. Another highlight was the Mini-Me Fashion Show, a showcasing of fashions of parent and child together.
